The Pilates Body, Inc. opened their new studio at 840 75th Street last weekend with great fanfare.
Local athletes, current clients and newcomers to Pilates attended the Grand Opening on Saturday, participating in free classes, sampling the equipment and meeting the owner, Colleen Cozzi.
“The Grand Opening was a great success!” said Cozzi of Saturday’s event. “Both current and prospective clients brought in a positive energy that created a fun atmosphere.”
Despite the bad weather and power outages, attendees turned out for their reserved times on Saturday, and the studio remained full throughout the morning and afternoon.
The free classes were held between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., bringing in a total of 31 people. Cozzi and her staff also offered free private and duet sessions for those who were interested in receiving more attention throughout their workout.
Cozzi started the weekend with a special reception on Friday evening for friends and family. She dedicated the new studio to her parents, John and Joyce Closs. Her mother passed away shortly after opening her first studio and her father has always been a huge advocate of Cozzi’s dreams. She finds their influence crucial to her success as both a trainer and a studio owner.
“My parents always encouraged me to work hard and be the best I could be,” Cozzi said. “Their love and support nurtured confidence in me that allowed me to open my own Pilates studio.”
The studio’s move marked over two years since Cozzi’s first studio opened five doors down at 876 75th Street. The original Pilates Body was less than half the size of the new studio, and the expansion was desperately needed.
Scheduling became an issue during the winter months as the former studio could not accommodate the needs of both current and new clients. Cozzi made the decision to open a larger studio, and the response has been positive.
“Everyone really enjoyed the new space,” said Anne Doheny, a trainer at The Pilates Body. “Our location is so easy to see off the street that the turnout for the opening was great! Both current clients and people new to our training enjoyed the studio.”
Cozzi plans to increase her business both at The Pilates Body, Inc. and throughout the community. As a member of the Willowbrook/Burr Ridge Chamber of Commerce and Industry, she will be holding free sessions this summer at a variety of events. The next event that The Pilates Body, Inc. plans to participate in is the Cruisin’ 66 Car Show and Festival on Saturday, August 8 at the Burr Ridge Park District.
The Pilates Body, Inc. looks forward to offering more classes and groups in their new space. For more information on the studio, Pilates and class times, please visit www.thepilatesbody.com or call 630-920-2639.
